The high level delegation of the Pakistan South Africa Trade Federation (PSATF) conducted a significant visit to the Board of Investment in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (BOI KP) as part of its visit to Pakistan in 2024. The meeting was chaired by the Industrial Minister, Abdul Karim Khan, and presided over by Iqbal Sarwar of BOI KPK. Key figures from multiple organizations and associations across the region attended, emphasizing the collaborative approach to strengthening trade relations. Attendees included representatives from the KPEZDMC, CTA, SIDB, and various associations focused on marble, exports, livestock, honey bee businesses, furniture, gems, jewelry, and small industries, highlighting the region’s diverse economic interests.
PSATF Chairman Muhammad Rafiq Memon led the PSATF delegation, joined by notable members such as Mumtaz Khan Yousufzai, President for the Middle East, KP, and Islamabad; Khalid Zahir, Special Assistant; and Ikramullah Jan, General Secretary. The primary objective of this meeting was to fortify trade ties between Pakistan and South Africa, laying groundwork for a formal trade treaty. The meeting also urged regional chambers of trade and industry to prioritize and facilitate trade between the two nations.
The response from Chamber members was encouraging, with expressions of enthusiasm for the proposed trade treaty and a commitment to nurturing a strong partnership with government bodies to advance bilateral trade.
